Designed by Boris Bidjan Saberi, the Athletic Bouldering Shoe 1 (Black) is built upon and adapted from a hand-shaped, downturned last created by climbing legend Fred Nicole. This collaboration merges over 30 years of Boris’ climbing experience with Fred’s unparalleled craftsmanship — resulting in an exceptionally soft, high-performance shoe that embodies both avant-garde design and technical precision.

The Collaboration
Boris Bidjan Saberi began his partnership with Salomon in 2016, continuously collaborating with the brand to create high-end performance pieces. Half German and half Persian, Boris’ heritage profoundly influences his creative philosophy — blending Western and Middle Eastern traditions, structured and formless design, and a deep fascination with numerology.

For the first time, his partnership with Salomon extended beyond apparel and packs to include footwear, under the 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi / Salomon Athletic Bouldering concept — a collection that fuses high design with outdoor performance.

Origin Story
Initially conceived as a one-off model for the 11 Athletic Bouldering Exhibit at Paris Fashion Week 2023, the Athletic Bouldering Climbing Shoe quickly became a standout favorite. Its overwhelming reception led to its reintroduction — now available for all to experience.
